Bhīmasena and Droṇa: Containment, Advance, and Recognition

Educational Q&A

Even in the extremity of war—where missiles and weapons create overwhelming pressure—true mastery and presence of mind can create a path of escape. The verse also hints at the paradox of heroic warfare: the same warriors who generate terror and congestion for enemies may themselves slip beyond it, reminding us that power in battle is as much strategic and psychological as it is physical.

Sañjaya reports that two eminent warriors, having broken free from the dense barrage of missiles and the immediate danger of close combat, are no longer visible on the battlefield. Their disappearance heightens suspense and signals a tactical withdrawal, concealment, or sudden repositioning amid the chaos of fighting.
