Adhyāya 92: Irāvanta-śoka, punaḥ-pravṛttiḥ saṅgrāmasya
Arjuna’s grief and the battle’s renewed intensity
कूजतां क्रन्दतां चैव स्तनतां चैव भारत । अनिशं शुश्रुवे शब्द: क्षुत्क्लिष्टानां नूगामिव,भरतनन्दन! भूखसे पीड़ित मनुष्योंकी भाँति कूजते, क्रन्दन करते और गरजते हुए योद्धाओंका शब्द निरन्तर सुनायी देता था
kūjatāṁ krandatāṁ caiva stanatāṁ caiva bhārata | aniśaṁ śuśruve śabdaḥ kṣut-kliṣṭānāṁ nūgām iva ||
Sañjaya sprach: „O Bhārata, unaufhörlich war das Getöse der Krieger zu hören—schrille Rufe, Wehklagen und donnernde Brüller—wie das wirre Geschrei einer Menge, die vom Hunger gepeinigt wird.“
