Educational Q&A

Even in warfare, dharma expresses itself as disciplined coordination and protection of the whole: strong leaders are placed where the army is most exposed, showing responsibility toward comrades rather than mere pursuit of personal glory.

Sañjaya describes the arrangement of forces in a battle formation: Bhīma and Sātyaki hold the two flanks (‘horns’), backed by large numbers of chariots, cavalry, and infantry, indicating a prepared and well-supported defensive posture on the edges.
