Yudhiṣṭhira–Śrutāyu encounter; Cekitāna–Gautama clash; Abhimanyu pressure; Arjuna’s redeployment

As a colophon, the verse does not teach a doctrine directly; it frames the ethical atmosphere of the narrative by naming the battle as “saṅkula” (confused, entangled), reminding the reader that war collapses clarity and tests dharma, even while valor (parākrama) is praised.
This is an end-of-chapter colophon marking the close of the seventy-seventh chapter within the Bhīṣma Parva, situating the events in the Bhīṣma-slaying context and highlighting the chaotic battle and Droṇa’s martial exploits as the chapter’s narrative focus.
