आत्मदोष-उपदेशः तथा भीम-धृष्टद्युम्नयोः संयोगः

Self-Causation Counsel and the Bhīma–Dhṛṣṭadyumna Convergence

तथैव पाण्डवा: सर्वे परिवार्य वृकोदरम्‌ । भीष्ममभ्यद्रवन्‌ क्रुद्धास्ततो युद्धमवर्तत,इसी प्रकार क्रोधमें भरे हुए समस्त पाण्डवोंने भी भीमसेनको घेरकर भीष्मपर धावा किया। फिर दोनों पक्षोंमें भयंकर युद्ध होने लगा

tathaiva pāṇḍavāḥ sarve parivārya vṛkodaram | bhīṣmam abhyadravan kruddhās tato yuddham avartata ||

Sañjaya sprach: Ebenso schlossen sich alle Pāṇḍavas, von Zorn entflammt, eng um Vṛkodara (Bhīma) zusammen und stürmten geradewegs auf Bhīṣma zu. Daraufhin entbrannte zwischen beiden Seiten ein erbitterter Kampf — Zorn und Entschlossenheit trieben die Krieger in einen entscheidenden Zusammenstoß mit dem Ältesten, der als Pfeiler des Kaurava-Heeres stand.
