Adhyāya 70: Sātyaki’s Arrow-Display and the Bhūriśravas Engagement; Twilight Withdrawal

एष लोकान्‌ ससर्जादौ देवांश्न ऋषिभि: सह । निधन चैव मृत्युं च प्रजानां प्रभवाप्ययौ,इन्होंने ही सर्गके आरम्भमें सम्पूर्ण लोकों तथा ऋषियोंसहित देवताओंकी रचना की थी। ये ही प्रलयके अधिष्ठान और मृत्युस्वरूप हैं। प्रजाकी उत्पत्ति और विनाश इन्हींसे होते हैं

eṣa lokān sasarjādau devāṁś ca ṛṣibhiḥ saha | nidhanaṁ caiva mṛtyuṁ ca prajānāṁ prabhavāpyayau ||

Bhīṣma sprach: „Er war es, der zu Beginn der Schöpfung alle Welten hervorbrachte, zusammen mit den Göttern und den Sehern. Er ist auch der Grund der Auflösung und die Gestalt des Todes selbst; aus Ihm entspringen Geburt und Vergehen aller Geschöpfe.“
