Arjuna’s Advance toward Bhīṣma; The Gāṇḍīva’s Signal and the Armies’ Convergence (भीष्माभिमुखगमनम् — गाण्डीवनिर्घोष-ध्वजवर्णनम्)
युद्धमें आते ही उन्होंने अपने बाणोंसे भीमसेनको अदृश्य कर दिया, मानो सूर्य बादलोंसे ढक गये हों ।।
abhimanyumukhās tat tu nāmṛṣyanta mahārathāḥ | bhīmasyācchādanaṃ saṅkhye svabāhubalam āśritāḥ ||
Sañjaya sprach: Doch die großen Wagenkämpfer unter Abhimanyus Führung konnten es nicht ertragen, dass Bhīma mitten im Gefecht von einem Sturm aus Pfeilen gleichsam erstickt wurde. Im Vertrauen auf die Kraft ihrer eigenen Arme rückten sie heran, schlossen ihn ein und hielten Bhagadatta auf, indem sie ihn von allen Seiten mit Pfeilen überschütteten—so dass selbst sein Elefant überall durchbohrt wurde.
