अपरे चैनमालोक्य भयात्‌ पज्चत्वमागता: । एवं सा बहुला सेना कलिज्जानां तरस्विनाम्‌

apare cainam ālokya bhayāt pañcatvam āgatāḥ | evaṃ sā bahulā senā kaliñjānāṃ tarasvinām ||

Sañjaya sprach: Andere wiederum wurden schon beim bloßen Anblick von solcher Furcht überwältigt, dass sie den Tod fanden. So geriet jenes gewaltige Heer der tapferen Kaliṅgas in diesen Zustand—seine Stärke durch Schrecken vor einem einzigen furchtbaren Krieger zunichtegemacht.
