महाव्यूह: कलिज्रानामेकेन मृदितस्त्वया । “आपने अकेले अपनी ही भुजाओंके बल और पराक्रमसे कलिंगोंके उस महान्‌ व्यूहको रौंदकर मिट्टीमें मिला दिया

Transliteration

sañjaya uvāca | mahāvyūhaḥ kaliṅgānām ekena mṛditas tvayā |

Translation

Sañjaya sagte: „Du allein hast die gewaltige Schlachtordnung der Kalingas zerschmettert und niedergetreten. Durch die bloße Kraft und Tapferkeit deiner eigenen Arme hast du jenes dichte Gefüge—angefüllt mit Elefanten, Pferden und Streitwagen—aufgebrochen und in Trümmer gelegt. Viele in seinen Reihen galten als Männer von Weltrang, und unzählige standhafte, heldenhafte Krieger hatten in jener großen Formation Zuflucht gesucht.“
