कुन्तिभोज श्र चैद्यश्व चक्षुर्भ्या तौ जनेश्वरी । दाशार्णका: प्रभद्राश्ष दाशेरकगणै: सह
Kuntibhojaś ca Caidyaś ca cakṣurbhyāṃ tau janeśvarī | Dāśārṇakāḥ Prabhadrāś ca Dāśerakagaṇaiḥ saha ||
Sañjaya sprach: „O Königin, Kuntibhoja und der König von Cedi wurden beide niedergestreckt, ihres Augenlichts beraubt. Auch die Dāśārṇas und die Prabhadras fielen, zusammen mit den Scharen der Dāśerakas.“
संजय उवाच
The verse underscores the grim moral weight of war: even renowned kings and entire clans are reduced to suffering and ruin, reminding the listener that violence—though undertaken under kṣatriya codes—carries irreversible human cost.
Sañjaya reports to the queen (Gāndhārī) the battlefield outcome: Kuntibhoja and the Cedi king are rendered sightless/struck down, and the Dāśārṇas and Prabhadras fall along with the Dāśeraka contingents—part of the ongoing tally of losses in the Kurukṣetra war.
