Nirmaryāda-saṃgrāma-varṇana — The Unbounded Clash and Bhīṣma’s Rallying Presence
काममाश्रित्य दुष्पूरं दम्भभानमदान्विता: । मोहाद गृहीत्वासदग्राहान् प्रवर्तन्तेडशुचिव्रता:,वे दम्भ, मान और मदसे युक्त मनुष्य किसी प्रकार भी पूर्ण न होनेवाली कामनाओंका आश्रय लेकर, अज्ञानसे मिथ्या सिद्धान्तोंको ग्रहण करके और भ्रष्ट आचरणोंको धारण करकेः संसारमें विचरते हैं
kāmam āśritya duṣpūraṁ dambha-māna-madānvitāḥ | mohād gṛhītvā sad-agrāhān pravartante 'śuci-vratāḥ ||
Von Heuchelei, Hochmut und dem Rausch des Ichs erfüllt, suchen solche Menschen Zuflucht in Begierden, die niemals wirklich zu stillen sind. Verblendet nehmen sie falsche Lehren an und, nachdem sie unreine Gelübde und verdorbene Übungen ergriffen haben, ziehen sie so durch die Welt.
