दिवि सूर्यसहस्रस्य भवेद् युगपदुत्थिता । यदि भा: सदृशी सा स्याद् भासस्तस्य महात्मन:,आकाशकमें हजार सूर्योके एक साथ उदय होनेसे उत्पन्न जो प्रकाश हो, वह भी उस विश्वरूप परमात्माके प्रकाशके सदृश कदाचित् ही होः
divi sūrya-sahasrasya bhaved yugapad utthitā | yadi bhāḥ sadṛśī sā syād bhāsas tasya mahātmanaḥ ||
Sañjaya sprach: Wenn am Himmel der Glanz von tausend Sonnen zugleich aufginge, so könnte selbst das den strahlenden Glanz der universalen Gestalt jenes großherzigen Herrn nur schwach erahnen lassen. Der Vers betont das moralische Erschauern und die hingebungsvolle Ehrfurcht, die die göttliche Offenbarung mitten in der Kriegskrise hervorruft, wo menschliches Urteil vor einer höheren kosmischen Ordnung demütig wird.
