सम्बन्ध-- इस प्रकार श्रोताके अन्तःकरणमें रुचि और श्रद्धा उत्पन्न करनेके लिये कर्मतत्वको गहन एवं उसका जानना आवश्यक बतलाकर अब अपनी प्रतिज्ञाके अनुसार भगवान्‌ कर्मका तत्त्व समझाते हैं-- कर्मण्यकर्म य: पश्येदकर्मणि च कर्म य: । स बुद्धिमान मनुष्येषु स युक्त: कृत्स्नकर्मकृत्‌,जो मनुष्य कर्ममें अकर्म देखता है और जो अकर्ममें कर्म देखता है, वह मनुष्योंमें बुद्धिमान है और वह योगी समस्त कर्मोंको करनेवाला हैः

karmaṇy akarma yaḥ paśyed akarmaṇi ca karma yaḥ | sa buddhimān manuṣyeṣu sa yuktaḥ kṛtsna-karma-kṛt ||

Wer Nicht-Handeln im Handeln erkennt und Handeln im Nicht-Handeln, der ist wahrhaft weise unter den Menschen. Ein solcher ist im Yoga gesammelt und diszipliniert; und obgleich er in der Welt handelt, gilt er als einer, der das Ganze des Handelns vollbracht hat—weil seine Taten mit rechter Einsicht und ohne bindende Anhaftung geschehen.
