अतिष्ठदाहवे भीष्मो भिद्यमानेषु मर्मसु । वहाँ ऊँची और नीची भूमिका भी कुछ ज्ञान नहीं हो पाता था, दसवें दिनके उस युद्धमें अपने मर्मस्थानोंके विदीर्ण होते रहनेपर भी भीष्मजी दस हजार योद्धाओंको मारकर वहाँ खड़े हुए थे || ७८ ह ।।
Translation
Bhīṣma stand unbewegt im Kampfgetümmel, selbst als seine lebenswichtigen Stellen aufgerissen wurden. An jenem zehnten Tag der Schlacht, obwohl seine Marmas—die Lebenspunkte—fortwährend zerspalten wurden, erschlug Bhīṣma zehntausend Krieger und blieb dennoch dort aufrecht stehen. Daraufhin stellte sich an die Spitze jenes Heeres Pārtha, der Bogenschütze.
