न चक्कुस्ते रुजं तस्य स्वर्णपड्खा: शिलाशिता: । महारथी शिखण्डीने जिन महान् बाणोंका प्रयोग किया था, वे सब सुवर्णमय पंखसे युक्त और शिलापर रगड़कर तेज किये गये थे, तो भी भीष्मजीके शरीरमें घाव या पीड़ा नहीं उत्पन्न कर सके

Sañjaya sprach: Und doch vermochten jene Pfeile—goldbefiedert und am Stein geschärft—weder Wunde noch Schmerz in Bhīṣmas Leib hervorzubringen.
