चेदिकाशिकरूषाणां सहस्राणि चतुर्दश । महारथा: समाख्याता: कुलपुत्रास्तनुत्यज:,वहाँ चेदि, काशि और करूष देशोंके चौदह हजार महारथी मौजूद थे, जिनकी बड़ी ख्याति थी, जो कुलीन होनेके साथ ही पाण्डवोंके लिये प्राणोंका परित्याग करनेको उद्यत थे

Transliteration

cedikāśikarūṣāṇāṃ sahasrāṇi caturdaśa | mahārathāḥ samākhyātāḥ kulaputrās tanutyajaḥ ||

Translation

Sañjaya sagte: „Aus den Ländern Cedi, Kāśi und Karūṣa waren vierzehntausend Krieger gekommen, berühmt als mahārathas—edelgeborene Männer, gerühmt für ihre Tüchtigkeit und bereit, in standhafter Treue zu den Pāṇḍavas ihr Leben hinzugeben.“
