भीष्मस्य जलप्रार्थना — अर्जुनस्य पर्जन्यास्त्रप्रयोगः — दुर्योधनं प्रति सन्ध्युपदेशः
Bhīṣma’s request for water; Arjuna’s Parjanya-astra; counsel to Duryodhana on reconciliation
महत्या सेनया युक्ता नानादेशसमुत्थया । भीष्मस्य समरे राजन् प्रार्थयाना महद् यश:,नरेश्वर! इनके साथ अनेक देशोंसे आयी हुई विशाल सेना मौजूद थी। ये समरभूमिमें भीष्मके महान् यशकी रक्षा करना चाहते थे
mahatyā senayā yuktā nānādeśa-samutthayā | bhīṣmasya samare rājan prārthayānā mahad yaśaḥ ||
O König, mit ihnen war auch ein gewaltiges Heer, aus vielen Ländern zusammengezogen. In jener Schlacht wollten sie Bhīṣmas großen Ruhm wahren und stützen, damit sein Name im Getöse der Waffen nicht geschmälert werde.
