भीष्मपर्व — अध्याय ११०: पार्थभीमयोः प्रहारः तथा भीष्माभिमुखं संग्रामविस्तारः
Arjuna and Bhima’s pressure; escalation toward Bhishma
नतु त्वामनृतं कर्तुमुत्सहे स्वात्मगौरवात् । अयुध्यमान: साहाय्यं यथोक्त कुरु माधव,माधव! परंतु मैं अपनी गुरुताका प्रभाव डालकर आपको असत्यवादी नहीं बना सकता। आप युद्ध किये बिना ही पूर्वोक्त सहायता करते रहिये
na tu tvām anṛtaṁ kartum utsahe svātma-gauravāt | ayudhyamānaḥ sāhāyyaṁ yathoktaṁ kuru mādhava ||
„Doch kann ich mich nicht dazu bringen, dich aus Rücksicht auf deine eigene Ehre Unwahrheit sprechen zu lassen. Ohne zu den Waffen zu greifen, o Mādhava, gewähre weiterhin die Hilfe, die du bereits zugesagt hast.“
