क्षीरोदो भरतश्रेष्ठ येन सम्परिवारित: । तत्र पुण्या जनपदास्तत्र न म्रियते जन:,भरतश्रेष्ठ उस समुद्रका नाम क्षीरसागर है, जिसने उक्त द्वीपको सब ओरसे घेर रखा है। वहाँ पवित्र जनपद हैं। वहाँ निवास करनेवाले लोगोंकी मृत्यु नहीं होती
kṣīrodo bharataśreṣṭha yena samparivāritaḥ | tatra puṇyā janapadās tatra na mriyate janaḥ ||
Sañjaya sprach: „O Bester der Bhāratas, jene Region ist von allen Seiten vom Milchozean (Kṣīrasāgara) umschlossen. Dort liegen heilige Länder; und die Menschen, die dort wohnen, begegnen dem Tod nicht.“
