Adhyāya 107 —
Multiple Defensive Engagements to Protect Bhīṣma
The verse highlights collective kṣatriya-dharma in battle: comrades must act with full preparedness and resolve to protect one another, especially when the outcome of the wider cause depends on a key warrior. It underscores responsibility, solidarity, and disciplined effort rather than isolated heroism.
Sañjaya reports to King Dhṛtarāṣṭra that the Pāṇḍavas, fully armed and exerting themselves, move to the location where Bhīṣma is positioned, specifically to safeguard Arjuna (Phālguna) and support his engagement on the battlefield.
