Marutta’s Sacrifice and Agni’s Embassy (मरुत्त-यज्ञे दूतत्वम्)
अग्निर्वाच शक्रो भृशं सुसुखी पार्थिवेन्द्र प्रीति चेच्छत्यजरां वै त्वया सः । देवाश्व सर्वे वशगास्तस्य राजन् संदेशं त्वं शृणु मे देवराज्ञ:,अग्निदेवने कहा--राजेन्द्र! देवराज इन्द्र बड़े सुखसे हैं और आपके साथ अटूट मैत्री जोड़ना चाहते हैं। सम्पूर्ण देवता भी उनके अधीन ही हैं। अब आप मुझसे देवराज इन्द्रका संदेश सुनिये
agnir uvāca śakro bhṛśaṃ susukhī pārthivendra prītiṃ cecchati jarāṃ vai tvayā saḥ | devāś ca sarve vaśagās tasya rājan saṃdeśaṃ tvaṃ śṛṇu me devarājñaḥ ||
Agni sprach: „O Herr der Erde, Śakra (Indra) ist überaus zufrieden. Er sucht mit dir ein Band des Wohlwollens und der Freundschaft zu knüpfen, das nicht altert. Alle Götter, o König, stehen unter seiner Gewalt. Darum höre von mir die Botschaft des Götterkönigs.“
