अश्वमेधीयस्य हयस्य दक्षिणापश्चिमगमनम् — The Sacrificial Horse’s Southern and Western Circuit
मैवं भू: शाम्यतां वैरं मा ते भूद् बुद्धिरीदृशी । गच्छेथथास्त्वं परां चैत्रीमश्वमेधे नूपस्य न:
vaiśampāyana uvāca |
maivaṁ bhūḥ śāmyatāṁ vairaṁ mā te bhūd buddhir īdṛśī |
gacchethathās tvaṁ parāṁ caitrīm aśvamedhe nūpasya naḥ ||
„Handle nicht so. Lass die Feindschaft zur Ruhe kommen; lass einen solchen Entschluss nie wieder in dir aufsteigen — denke nie wieder daran, Krieg gegen uns zu führen. Am kommenden Vollmond des Monats Caitra wird König Yudhiṣṭhira das Aśvamedha-Opfer vollziehen; du musst gewiss dort erscheinen.“
