अभवं स च तच्छुत्वा विषादमगमत्‌ परम्‌ । ः | : है डर “उनकी बातें सुनकर मेरी सारी इन्द्रियाँ व्यथित हो उठीं और पातालमें प्रवेश करके मैंने अपने पितासे यह सारा समाचार कह सुनाया। यह सुनकर पिताजीको भी बड़ा खेद हुआ

abhavaṁ sa ca tac chrutvā viṣādam agamat param |

Arjuna sprach: „Als ich jene Worte hörte, wurde ich von tiefster Trauer überwältigt. Meine Sinne gerieten ins Wanken, und ich stieg in die Unterwelt hinab, um meinem Vater die ganze Begebenheit zu berichten. Als er es vernahm, ergriff auch ihn großer Kummer.“
