अभिवादयते पार्थ तं पश्य पुरुषर्षभ । 'भैया! भरतश्रेष्ठ! यह तुम्हारे भानजे सुरथका औरस पुत्र है। पुरुषप्रवर पार्थ! इसकी ओर देखो, यह तुम्हें प्रणाम करता है”

abhivādayate pārtha taṃ paśya puruṣarṣabha | bhaiyā bharataśreṣṭha etat tava bhānje surathakā aurasaḥ putraḥ | puruṣapravara pārtha asya oraṃ paśya eṣa tvāṃ praṇamati ||

Vaiśampāyana sprach: „O Pārtha, sieh ihn an — o Stier unter den Männern —, er verneigt sich in Ehrfurcht. ‚Bruder, Bester der Bhāratas, dies ist der rechtmäßige Sohn deines Neffen Surathā. O Pārtha, Vornehmster der Männer, wende dich ihm zu; er entbietet dir seinen ehrerbietigen Gruß.‘“
