Āśvamedha-dīkṣā-nirdeśaḥ — Scheduling the Initiation and Assigning Protection for the Horse
This line is not a doctrinal verse but a colophon: it teaches indirectly by emphasizing textual order and closure—signaling that instruction and reflection (Anugītā context) are framed within dharma-guided narrative progression, and that the Pāṇḍavas’ actions are to be read as part of an ethically structured epic.
The narrator (Vaiśampāyana) formally concludes the chapter identified as the seventieth, whose topic is the arrival of the Pāṇḍavas, within the Anugītā section of the Aśvamedhika Parva.
