Āśvamedha-dīkṣā-nirdeśaḥ — Scheduling the Initiation and Assigning Protection for the Horse
कीर्तयन्त: स्वनामानि तस्य पादौ ववन्दिरे । वे यथायोग्य सबसे मिलकर राजा धृतराष्ट्रके पास गये। अपना-अपना नाम बताते हुए उनके चरणोंमें प्रणाम करने लगे
kīrtayantaḥ svanāmāni tasya pādau vavandire |
Indem sie jeweils ihren eigenen Namen aussprachen, verneigten sie sich zu seinen Füßen. In gebührender Ordnung gingen sie alle gemeinsam zu König Dhṛtarāṣṭra und brachten, nachdem sie sich zu erkennen gegeben hatten, ehrerbietige Grüße dar—eine Handlung, die höfische Sitte, Demut und die Achtung vor den Älteren selbst im Nachhall des Krieges wahrt.
