प्रभावज्ञास्मि ते कृष्ण तस्मात् त्वां याचयाम्यहम् । कुरुष्व पाण्डुपुत्राणामिमं परमनुग्रहम्,“श्रीकृष्ण! मैं तुम्हारे प्रभावको जानती हूँ। इसीलिये तुमसे याचना करती हूँ। इस बालकको जीवनदान देकर तुम पाण्डवोंपर यह महान् अनुग्रह करो
prabhāvajñāsmi te kṛṣṇa tasmāt tvāṃ yācayāmy aham | kuruṣva pāṇḍuputrāṇām imaṃ paramānugraham |
Vaiśampāyana sprach: „O Kṛṣṇa, ich kenne das Maß deiner göttlichen Macht; darum flehe ich dich an. Schenke diesem Kind das Leben und erweise so den Söhnen Pāṇḍus diese höchste Gunst—eine große Gnade für die Pāṇḍavas.“
