Abhimanyu’s Śrāddha; Vyāsa’s Assurance of the Unborn Heir (अभिमन्योः श्राद्धं तथा गर्भरक्षणोपदेशः)
कुले महति जातासि क्षत्रियाणां महात्मनाम् | मा शुचश्चपलाक्ष त्वं पद्मपत्रनिभेक्षणे,“बेटी! कमलदललोचने! तुम महात्मा क्षत्रियोंके महान् कुलमें उत्पन्न हुई हो; अतः तुम अपने चंचल नेत्रोंवाले पुत्रके लिये शोक न करो
kule mahati jātāsi kṣatriyāṇāṁ mahātmanām | mā śucaś capalākṣa tvaṁ padmapatranibhekṣaṇe ||
Vaiśampāyana sprach: „Tochter —du mit den Augen wie Lotusblätter— du bist in ein großes Geschlecht hochgesinnter Kṣatriyas hineingeboren. Darum trauere nicht um deinen Sohn mit dem unruhigen Blick.“
