Marutta Seeks a Priest: Bṛhaspati’s Refusal and Nārada’s Guidance to Saṃvarta
Chapter 6
संकल्प्य मनसा यज्ञ करन्धमसुतात्मज: । बृहस्पतिमुपागम्य वाग्मी वचनमत्रवीत्,बातचीत करनेमें कुशल करन्धमपौत्र मरुत्तने मन-ही-मन यज्ञका संकल्प करके बृहस्पतिजीके पास जाकर उनसे इस प्रकार कहा--
saṅkalpya manasā yajñaṃ karaṇḍhamasūtātmajaḥ | bṛhaspatim upāgamya vāgmī vacanam atravīt ||
Nachdem er in seinem Geist den Entschluss gefasst hatte, ein Opfer (yajña) zu vollziehen, trat Marutta — Enkel Karaṇḍhamas und Sohn Asūtas — zu Bṛhaspati. Redegewandt sprach er ihn mit passenden Worten an.
