वैशम्पायन उवाच इत्युक्त: स तदा राज्ञा क्षमं बुद्धिमता हितम् । अनुज्ञाप्य स राजानमहल्यां प्रतिजग्मिवान्,वैशम्पायनजी कहते हैं--जनमेजय! इस प्रकार बुद्धिमान् राजा सौदासके मुखसे उचित और हितकी बात सुनकर उनकी आज्ञा ले उत्तंक मुनि अहल्याके पास चल दिये
Vaiśampāyana uvāca: ity uktaḥ sa tadā rājñā kṣamaṁ buddhimatā hitam | anujñāpya sa rājānam ahalyāṁ pratijagmivān ||
Vaiśampāyana sprach: So angesprochen und nachdem er vom weisen König Worte vernommen hatte, die angemessen und heilsam waren, nahm der Weise Uttaṅka Abschied vom Herrscher und machte sich erneut auf den Weg zu Ahalyā.
