सौदासने कहा--विप्रवर! आप इच्छानुसार प्रश्न कीजिये। मैं आपकी बातका उत्तर दूँगा। आपके मनमें जो भी संदेह होगा अभी उसका निवारण करूँगा। इसमें मुझे कुछ भी विचार करनेकी आवश्यकता नहीं पड़ेगी
Saudāsa uvāca—vipravara! tvaṁ yathā-iccham praśnaṁ pṛccha; ahaṁ tava vacanasya uttaraṁ dāsyāmi. tava manasi yo'pi saṁśayo bhaviṣyati, tasya adyaiva nivāraṇaṁ kariṣyāmi. atra mama kiñcid api vicāraṇīyaṁ na bhaviṣyati.
Saudāsa sprach: „O Bester der Brahmanen, frage, was immer du wünschst. Ich werde dir antworten. Welcher Zweifel auch in deinem Herzen aufsteigt, ich werde ihn sogleich beseitigen. In dieser Sache brauche ich überhaupt nicht zu überlegen.“
