सर्वैरपि गुणैरविंद्वान्‌ व्यतिषक्तो न लिप्यते | जलबिन्दुर्यथा लोल: पद्मिनीपत्रसंस्थित:

sarvair api guṇair avindvān vyatiṣakto na lipyate | jalabindur yathā lolaḥ padminīpatrasaṁsthitaḥ ||

Vāyu-deva sprach: Selbst wenn ein Mensch von allerlei Eigenschaften und Umständen umgeben und mit ihnen verflochten ist, wird er, sofern er unangehaftet bleibt, von ihnen nicht befleckt. Wie ein zitternder Wassertropfen, der auf einem Lotusblatt ruht, nicht daran haftet, so verweilen die Weisen in der Welt, ohne durch ihre Berührungen verunreinigt zu werden.
