धर्मलक्षणसंयुक्तमुक्त वो विधिवन्मया । गुणानां ग्रहणं सम्यग्‌ वक्ष्माम्यहमत: परम्‌,महर्षियो! यह मैंने तुमलोगोंसे लक्षणोंसहित धर्मका विधिवत्‌ वर्णन किया। अब यह बतला रहा हूँ कि किस गुणको किस इन्द्रियसे ठीक-ठीक ग्रहण किया जाता है

dharmalakṣaṇasaṃyuktam uktaṃ vo vidhivan mayā | guṇānāṃ grahaṇaṃ samyag vakṣmāmy aham ataḥ param, maharṣayaḥ ||

Vāyu sprach: „O große ṛṣis! Ich habe euch das Dharma samt seinen kennzeichnenden Merkmalen ordnungsgemäß und nach rechter Methode dargelegt. Nun will ich klar ausführen, wie jede Eigenschaft (guṇa) von dem jeweils zugehörigen Sinnesvermögen richtig erfasst wird.“
