ब्राह्मण कहते हैं--प्रिये! इस विषयमें विद्वान् पुरुष इस प्राचीन इतिहासका उदाहरण दिया करते हैं। दस होता मिलकर जिस प्रकार यज्ञका अनुष्ठान करते हैं, वह सुनो
brāhmaṇa uvāca—priye! asmin viṣaye vidvāṁsaḥ puruṣāḥ imaṁ prācīnam itihāsam udāharaṇam āharanti. daśa hotāraḥ samāgatā yathā yajñasya anuṣṭhānaṁ kurvanti, tat śṛṇu.
Der Brahmane sprach: „Geliebte, in dieser Sache führen Gelehrte ein altes geschichtliches Beispiel an. Höre, wie zehn Hotṛ-Priester, zusammengekommen, die Ausführung eines Opfers vollzogen.“
