ऋजुं पश्यति मेधावी पुत्रवत् पाति न: सदा । 'ये भरतकुलभूषण युधिष्छिर शत्रुओंपर भी दया करनेवाले और परम पवित्र हैं। बुद्धिमान होनेके साथ ही ये सबको सरलभावसे देखनेवाले हैं और हमलोगोंका सदा पुत्रवत् पालन करते हैं
ṛjuṁ paśyati medhāvī putravat pāti naḥ sadā |
Vaiśampāyana sprach: „Er ist weise und schaut die Dinge mit geradem Sinn; und er beschützt uns stets, wie es ein Sohn täte.“
वैशम्पायन उवाच
True leadership is marked by wisdom joined with straightforward, unbiased vision and sustained, familial care for dependents—protecting others not merely by power but by dutiful affection.
The narrator Vaiśampāyana describes a revered figure’s qualities—his discerning intelligence, his simple and direct way of seeing, and his constant protection of others as if they were his own—framing him as an ethical guardian within the Ashramavāsika context.
