Adhyāya 32: Tāpasānāṃ Darśanaṃ — Ascetics Seek to Identify the Pāṇḍavas
नात्र शोको भयं त्रासो नारतिर्नायशो5भवत्
nātra śoko bhayaṁ trāso nāratir nāyaśo 'bhavat
Vaiśampāyana sprach: „Hier gab es weder Kummer noch Furcht noch Panik; weder Unzufriedenheit noch ein Verlust an Ehre kam auf.“
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse highlights a dharmic ideal of steadiness: in a righteous or properly ordered situation, one should not be overwhelmed by sorrow, fear, or panic, nor fall into discontent or dishonor—suggesting inner composure and moral clarity.
Vaiśampāyana describes the atmosphere of the moment as free from distress and disgrace: no one is seized by grief or fear, and no agitation, dissatisfaction, or loss of honor occurs, indicating a calm, controlled situation.
