वैशम्पायन उवाच
As a colophon, the verse does not teach through instruction but through framing: it signals the epic’s ethical movement from worldly rule to withdrawal, highlighting that power and conflict culminate in accountability, renunciation, and the search for inner steadiness.
The text is concluding a chapter: it states that the fifteenth chapter ends within the Āśramavāsika Parva, in the portion dealing with life in the forest-āśrama and Dhṛtarāṣṭra’s departure.
