Offerings for Ancestors and Their Stated Results
एषा सुवर्णस्योत्पत्ति: कथिता ते मयानघ । कार्तिकेयस्य च विभो तद् विद्धि भूगुनन्दन,प्रभो! निष्पाप भृगुनन्दन! यह मैंने तुम्हें सुवर्ण और कार्तिकेयकी उत्पत्ति बतायी है। इसे अच्छी तरह समझ लो
eṣā suvarṇasyotpattiḥ kathitā te mayānagha | kārtikeyasya ca vibho tad viddhi bhṛgunandana ||
Vasiṣṭha sprach: „O Makelloser, ich habe dir den Ursprung des Goldes erklärt und ebenso den des mächtigen Kārttikeya. O Freude der Bhṛgus, begreife dies wohl.“
वसिष्ठ उवाच
The verse emphasizes attentive comprehension of sacred instruction: after narrating mythic origins (gold and Kārttikeya), the teacher urges the listener to grasp the teaching carefully, reflecting the dharmic value of receiving knowledge with focus and respect.
Vasiṣṭha concludes or summarizes a prior explanation about the origins of gold and the deity Kārttikeya, addressing the listener as a Bhārgava (“Bhṛgunandana”) and instructing him to understand the account thoroughly.
