देव्या विवाहे निर्वेत्ते रुद्राण्या भुगुनन्दन । समागमे भगवतो देव्या सह महात्मन:,'भगुकुलरत्न! भृगुनन्दन परशुराम! यह बात उस समयकी है, जब श्रेष्ठ पर्वत हिमालयपर शूलपाणि महात्मा भगवान्‌ रुद्रका देवी रुद्राणीके साथ विवाह-संस्कार सम्पन्न हुआ था और महामना भगवान्‌ शिवको उमादेवीके साथ समागम-सुख प्राप्त था

devyā vivāhe nirvṛtte rudrāṇyā bhṛgunandana | samāgame bhagavato devyā saha mahātmanaḥ ||

Bhīṣma sprach: „O Nachkomme des Bhṛgu, als die Hochzeitsriten der Göttin Rudrāṇī ordnungsgemäß vollzogen waren und als der großbeseelte Herr (Rudra/Śiva) in inniger Gemeinschaft mit der Göttin vereint war—da (ereignete sich dies).“
