समानवत्सां धूम्रां तु थेनुं दत््वा पयस्विनीम् । सुव्रतां वस्त्रसंवीतां याम्यलोके महीयते,जो पुरुष दूध देनेवाली सुलक्षणा धूएँ-जैसे रंगकी गौको वस्त्र ओढ़ाकर धूएँके समान रंगके बछड़ेसहित दान करता है, वह यमलोकमें सम्मानित होता है
samānavatsāṃ dhūmrāṃ tu dhenuṃ dattvā payasvinīm | suvratāṃ vastrasaṃvītāṃ yāmyaloke mahīyate ||
Vasiṣṭha sprach: Ein Mann, der eine rauchgraue, milchreiche Kuh zusammen mit einem Kalb gleicher Farbe verschenkt und sie, wie es sich ziemt, mit einem Tuch bedeckt darbringt, wird im Reich Yamas geehrt.
