Brahmā–Indra–Surabhi Itihāsa
समानवत्सां श्वेतां तु धेनुं दत्त्वा पयस्विनीम् । सुव्रतां वस्त्रसंवीतामिन्द्रलोके महीयते,जो मानव दूध देनेवाली सुलक्षणा श्वेत वर्णकी गौको वस्त्र ओढ़ाकर श्वेत वर्णके बछड़ेसहित दान करता है, उसे इन्द्रलोकमें सम्मान प्राप्त होता है
samānavatsāṁ śvetāṁ tu dhenuṁ dattvā payasvinīm | suvratāṁ vastrasaṁvītām indraloke mahīyate ||
Vasiṣṭha sprach: „Wer eine milchreiche weiße Kuh spendet, begleitet von einem Kalb gleicher Art, und sie bei rechter Lebensführung gebührend mit einem Tuch bedeckt, wird in Indras Welt geehrt.“
