Educational Q&A

The verse emphasizes ethical evaluation through multiple markers—qualities, learning (Vedic study), birth/lineage, progeny, and consistent conduct—showing that true comparability is judged by a complete profile of character and life-practice, not by a single trait.

Bhīṣma describes another person who is said to be fully comparable to a previously mentioned wise man, matching him in virtues, Vedic learning, birth, offspring, and conduct—setting up a narrative contrast or a decision about whom to recognize or bring forward.
