ये रणाग्रे महीपाला: शूरा: समितिशोभना: । वध्यन्तेडभिमुखा: शक्र ब्रह्मलोकं॑ व्रजन्ति ते,देवराज! युद्धमें शोभा पानेवाले जो शूरवीर भूपाल युद्धके मुहानेपर शत्रुके सम्मुख लड़ते हुए मारे जाते हैं, वे ब्रह्मलोकमें जाते हैं
ye raṇāgre mahīpālāḥ śūrāḥ samitiśobhanāḥ | vadhyante ’bhimukhāḥ śakra brahmalokaṃ vrajanti te devarāja ||
Bhīṣma spricht zu Indra: „O König der Götter! Jene heldenhaften Könige—glänzend im Zusammenprall der Schlacht—die an der vordersten Front dem Feind von Angesicht zu Angesicht entgegentreten und kämpfend fallen, gelangen nach Brahmaloka.“
भीष्म उवाच
That a kṣatriya who fights bravely at the front, confronting the enemy without turning away, and dies in that combat, is said to attain the exalted realm of Brahmā (Brahmaloka), highlighting the moral weight assigned to courageous, duty-bound warfare.
Bhīṣma addresses Indra (Śakra/Devarāja), describing the fate of heroic kings who are killed while fighting face-to-face in the vanguard of battle, stating that such warriors proceed to Brahmaloka.
