The Pre-eminence of Land-Gift

एता जात्यस्तु वृक्षाणां तेषां रोपे गुणास्त्विमे । कीर्तिश्व मानुषे लोके प्रेत्य चैव फलं शुभम्‌,ये वृक्षोंकी जातियाँ हैं। अब इनके लगानेसे जो लाभ हैं, वे यहाँ बताये जाते हैं। वृक्ष लगानेवाले मनुष्यकी इस लोकमें कीर्ति बनी रहती है और मरनेके बाद उसे उत्तम शुभ फलकी प्राप्ति होती है

Transliteration

etā jātyas tu vṛkṣāṇāṁ teṣāṁ rope guṇās tv ime | kīrtiś ca mānuṣe loke pretya caiva phalaṁ śubham ||

Translation

Dies sind die Arten der Bäume. Nun will ich die Verdienste darlegen, die aus ihrem Pflanzen erwachsen. Wer Bäume pflanzt, erlangt dauerhaften Ruhm in der Menschenwelt und empfängt nach dem Tod eine vortreffliche, glückverheißende Frucht.
