Adhyāya 60: Dāna vs. Yajña—Royal Giving, Protection, and Karmic Share

रसानां प्रतिसंहारात्‌ सौभाग्यमिह विन्दति । आमिषप्रतिसंहारात्‌ प्रजा ह्यायुष्मती भवेत्‌

rasānāṁ pratisaṁhārāt saubhāgyam iha vindati | āmiṣa-pratisaṁhārāt prajā hy āyuṣmatī bhavet ||

Vaiśampāyana sprach: „Wer sich von den Geschmäckern (den Sinnenlusten) zurückzieht, erlangt in dieser Welt Glück und Gedeihen. Wer auf Fleisch verzichtet, dessen Nachkommen werden langlebig.“
