Dāna-Śreṣṭhatā: Abhaya, Anugraha, and the Ethics of Honoring the Worthy (दानश्रेष्ठता: अभय-अनुग्रह-विप्रपूजा)
भविष्यत्येष ते काम: कुशिकात् कौशिको द्विज: । तृतीयं पुरुष तुभ्यं ब्राह्मणत्वं गमिष्यति
bhaviṣyaty eṣa te kāmaḥ kuśikāt kauśiko dvijaḥ | tṛtīyaṃ puruṣa tubhyaṃ brāhmaṇatvaṃ gamiṣyati ||
Cyavana sprach: „Dieser dein Wunsch wird gewiss in Erfüllung gehen. Aus Kuśika wird eine brahmanische Linie hervorgehen, die man die Kauśikas nennt; und in deiner dritten Generation werden deine Nachkommen das Brahmanentum erlangen.“
