विपुल उवाच कानि रूपाणि शक्रस्य भवन्त्यागच्छतो मुने । वपुस्तेजश्न कीदृग् वै तन्मे व्याख्यातुमहसि
vipula uvāca kāni rūpāṇi śakrasya bhavanty āgacchato mune | vapus tejaś ca kīdṛg vai tan me vyākhyātum arhasi ||
Vipula sprach: „O Weiser, in welchen Gestalten erscheint Śakra (Indra), wenn er kommt? Und wie sind dann sein Leib und sein Glanz? Bitte erkläre mir dies deutlich.“
विपुल उवाच
The verse models a dharmic mode of learning: respectful inquiry into the signs of divine presence (form and radiance) so that one may recognize truth and not be misled by mere appearances.
Vipula addresses a sage and asks for a clear description of how Indra appears when he arrives—what forms he assumes and what kind of bodily splendor and radiance accompany him.
