अहिंसयित्वा ब्रह्महत्याविधानम् / Brahmahatyā incurred without physical violence
वैश्वदेवं च ये मूढा विप्राय ब्रह्मचारिणे । ददते नेह राजेन्द्र ते लोकान् भुज्जतेडशुभान्
vaiśvadevaṃ ca ye mūḍhā viprāya brahmacāriṇe | dadate neha rājendra te lokān bhuñjate 'śubhān ||
Bhishma sprach: „O König, jene verblendeten Menschen, die in dieser Welt das Vaiśvadeva-Opfer — Speise, die zu teilen ist — einem Brahmanen, der als Brahmacārin lebt, nicht geben, gelangen zu unheilvollen Bereichen. Die Lehre lautet: Wer die tägliche Gastfreundschaft und das heilige Teilen vernachlässigt, besonders gegenüber disziplinierten Suchenden, zieht nach dem Tod schädliche Folgen auf sich.“
