काम्यया पृष्टवांस्त्वं मां ततो व्याह्मतमुत्तमम् । अनतिक्रमणीया सा कृत्स्नौलेकैस्त्रिभि: सदा
Bhīṣma uvāca: kāmyayā pṛṣṭavāṁs tvaṁ māṁ tato vyākhyātam uttamam | anatikramaṇīyā sā kṛtsnair lokais tribhiḥ sadā ||
Bhishma sprach: „Da du mich aus dem Wunsch zu wissen befragt hast, habe ich die Sache daher gut und vollständig dargelegt. Dieses Gebot darf niemals überschritten werden — nicht einmal von allen Wesen in den drei Welten.“
भीष्म उवाच
A rightful injunction—especially one grounded in dharma and associated with brahminical authority—is to be treated as inviolable; it should not be transgressed, regardless of status, even in the scope of the three worlds.
Bhishma responds to a question posed with sincere curiosity, stating that he has explained the matter thoroughly and emphasizing the binding force of the instruction he has just given.
