Aṣṭāvakra–Strī-saṃvāda: Dhṛti, hospitality, and a dispute on autonomy

प्रदक्षिणं तथा चक्रे प्रयतः शिरसा नतः । धरणीमवतीर्याथ पूतात्मासौ तदाभवत्‌,उन बड़े-बड़े पर्वतोंको लाँचकर यतचित्त हो उन्होंने किरातवेषधारी महादेवजीके उत्तम स्थानकी परिक्रमा की और उसे मस्तक झुकाकर प्रणाम किया। फिर नीचे पृथ्वीपर उतरकर वे उस स्थानके माहात्म्यसे तत्काल पवित्रात्मा हो गये

pradakṣiṇaṃ tathā cakre prayataḥ śirasā nataḥ | dharaṇīm avatīryātha pūtātmāsau tadābhavat ||

Bhishma sprach: Mit gezügeltem Geist und in ehrfürchtiger Haltung vollzog er die Pradakṣiṇa um jene heilige Stätte und neigte das Haupt in Huldigung. Dann, zur Erde hinabgestiegen, wurde er sogleich im Innersten geläutert durch die reinigende Kraft und den Ruhm dieses Ortes — ein Hinweis darauf, dass Demut, Verehrung und die Berührung mit einem heiligen Bezirk als reinigend und festigend für das innere Selbst gelten.
